The smell of fresh forest air. Gravel Grinding. Sweat dripping. Welcome to the Takelma Gravel Grinder. After a resounding success in its first year, the Takelma Gravel Grinder returns for year two, on Saturday, June 27th! This ride is the result of a partnership between our very own Marketing Director and cycling enthusiast, Harold Phillips and Mike Ripley from Mudslinger events. This incredible bike ride is over 50 miles of climbs and descents through some of Southern Oregon’s most incredible scenery. Riders have two route choices, Decaf and Bold, both of which provide incredible opportunities to traverse the unique and challenging terrain of this amazing ride. Click here to view interactive maps of each route.

Participants who rode in the inaugural event will know that the Takelma Gravel Grinder is one of the most unique bike rides around, but for those thinking about riding it for the first time, we’ll catch you up on what makes this ride so unique. The riders start their journey by cycling through the casino before venturing out towards the town of Canyonville and onto rural, Tiller Trail Highway. Riders will enjoy the rolling hills and farmland of Southern Oregon along the South Umpqua River before hitting the gravel and the first climb of the ride. A challenging 1.3 mile KOM climbing effort with 9% average gain, summiting to a spectacular valley view of Days Creek.

The gravel terrain and significant elevation changes make this route an experience to remember. The Takelma Gravel Grinder is a ride for people who want to explore, sightsee and push themselves. This year, the event is included in the fourth installment of the Oregon Triple Crown series. Riders must complete three of the four legs to earn the coveted Pactimo Jersey!

Awaiting riders at the end of the route is the Bites, Blues & Brews Festival hosted by Seven Feathers Casino Resort. Your meal ticket and first beer token are included with your ride registration!
